The National Memorial Chorten in Thimphu was built in 1974 by Her Majesty The Late Queen Ashi Phuntsho Choden Wangchuck in memory of her son, His Majesty the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (1928 – 1972).
A man feeds leftover rice to the pigeons at the Thimphu National Memorial Chorten.
I was going through my old pictures and look what I dug out. This photograph was shot on 5 November, 2009, around 7 AM. I can’t remember the name of the man feeding the pigeons but I remember him telling me that every morning he collected leftover rice (cooked) from the Police Mess across the road, and fed the pigeons.
