This is what the Big Buddha looks like at 6 AM in the winter, after a light snowfall.

Ever since I got this new year card from my good friend Dorji, I wanted a similar shot of Thimphu with the snow covered mountains in the horizon. Since I don’t have Dorji’s energy to hike up to Dagala for the shot, I figured I will wait until the snow came lower, and could be visible from the valley.
Woke up early this morning looking for the shot, but the clouds hung low, hiding all the snow covered mountains around the valley. Instead got some good ones of the Big Buddha.
